Our technology: 4Ddynamics - Mephisto 3D Scanning Engine. Thinglab operate a Mephisto optical 3D scanning system. This is highly flexible, fast and accurate, and produces high quality scanning results with a minimum of processing time. It is suitable for small and large area scanning of animated as well as static objects. The example applications above are a testament to its capabilities.

We generally require images of your object to establish a quote, but in some cases we may need the actual part to provide an accurate quote for your project. Each of the following criteria may also affect the ultimate cost of your project:

• Physical characteristics - size, material, shape, etc
• Output File - xyz point cloud, .stl, .iges, etc
• Location - in-house or off-site
• Time to delivery - urgent, standard or down time.

If you would like to ask for a quote, you can help us to evaluate the project more quickly and to compile a more accurate costing for you if you include information relating to the following questions (in the "Any other comments/notes?" section of the quote form):

1. Is the surface shiny or black?
2. Can the object be sprayed with a removable coating to stop any reflections?
3. How much detail is actually required? Do you require exact copy or are you more looking for a general copy?
4. Do you require, texture/colour/UV mapping?
5. What are your timescales?
6. Is this a one off project or would you have regular requirements for this service?   
7. What is your objective of this scan? To convert for 3D printing a model? For CNC?
8. What is the scale required for the final output?

We can scan your object with our state-of-the-art, non-contact scanning technology and create a three dimensional model in any of the following formats: STL, U3D, PLY, XYZ, VRML and U3D. We can also generate NURBS surfaces or splines from your object and export IGES/STEP files.
