3D Optical Digitizers
Patterned light is projected onto subjects; deformation is recorded by an off-set camera. Triangulation calculates a 3D mesh. Fast, accurate and adaptable for human portraiture.
3D Laser Scanners
A laser line moves over subjects' surfaces; an off-set camera records deformation. Triangulation calculates a 3D mesh. Slower, but higher accuracy enabled for static objects.
3D Mechanical Digitizers
Mechanical arms physically probe objects, guided by the user; points are recorded on the surface of subjects. Intuitive but slow. Unsuitable for delicate objects.
3D Scanning software
View, edit and export scan data efficiently and accurately. Triangulation, registration and merging algorithms, polygon editing, CAD conversion, model export for web viewing.

The FaceVision product line consists of reconfigurable
hardware and software modules easily integrated into identity management systems
scalable from a single facility to national border control.
A typical minimum configuration FaceVision
system contains:
Enrollment Stations:
to acquire 3D facial shape templates from known subjects.
Identity Sensors: at
points of entry.
Centralized Identity Server:
to extract, store and compare 3D templates
One or more application software
modules such as supervisory or watch list checking
Ear to Ear and Frontal Stations
Enrollment Stations
FaceVision 3D Biometric Enrollment Stations provide a powerful, convenient,
and field-proven system for acquiring 3D facial shape biometrics. To ensure
user acceptance and ease of operator training, FaceVision 3D Biometric Enrollment
Stations operate just like conventional photo ID enrollment systems, but they
deliver 3D biometric templates suitable for medium to high-security access control
applications. Easily customized personal data capture screens plus optional
fingerprint, smart card, and photo ID printing modules support rapid implementation
of complete enrollment solutions.
FaceVision 200 Series Biometric Enrollment
Stations are based on the same Face Vision Identity Sensor used at probe, integrated
with desk-mounted frame and illumination to ensure high-quality 2D and 3D enrollment
datasets. The 200 Series Enrollment Stations are ideal for cost-sensitive installations
where identity verification will be performed from near-frontal pose angles.
To enroll galleries that might be probed from
large pose angles, FaceVision 600 Series 3D Biometric Enrollment Stations include
six high-speed, high-resolution cameras mounted in a rigid frame containing
a complete optimized lighting system. The cameras are arranged in three pairs,
each of which acquires a 3D patch from one view of the subject's face (front,
right, and left). The three patches are automatically merged together into a
precise ear-to-ear 3D facial model, including compression into a 3D Facial Shape
Analysis template for rapid identity comparisons. The 600 Series arrives completely
tested, and includes an assembled frame containing cameras and lighting.

Idenity Sensor
Identity Sensors
FaceVision 3D Biometric Identity Sensors provide a secure, convenient, and flexible
biometric sensing solution for access and border control systems. As easy to
integrate and operate as conventional cameras, FaceVision Identity Sensors output
tightly calibrated stereo image pairs that are processed into precise 3D Facial
Shape Analysis Templates for confident identity verification. FaceVision Identity
Sensors are available in wall, door, desk, and portal configurations, with a
wireless handheld version planned for identifying multiple vehicle occupants.
FaceVision Identity Sensors deliver high-resolution color facial images that
remain perfectly registered to processed shape data, providing a complete, geometrically
accurate facial imagery package suitable for any surveillance or forensic application
requiring 2D or 3D facial measurement. In addition to identity verification,
FaceVision Identity Sensors may also be used for enrolling subjects in cases
where identification from large pose angles is not required.
FaceVision Biometric Identity Sensors are constructed
using the latest high-speed, high-resolution digital cameras to ensure a continuous
upgrade path and ongoing price/performance improvement. All processing is performed
at central Identity Server workstations to ensure immediate system-wide implementation
of all software upgrades.
Geometrix offers a variety of Identity Servers designed to meet the needs of
any identity control system from single facility to national border. All FaceVision
Identity Servers feature the same proven algorithms for robust and reliable
identity confirmation.
Idenity Servers
All FaceVision Identity Servers perform the
following functions:
High-speed 3D extraction:
Images from FaceVision Enrollment Stations and FaceVision Identity Sensors are
processed to extract precise 3D shape.
Biometric Template Generation:
Extracted 3D models are further processed into an encrypted, compressed template
for matching purposes, from which the original 3D facial model may be reconstructed.
Database Storage:
A high-speed SQL database is used to organize and access stored templates from
any node on the network.
Identity Verification:
FaceVision's high-speed matching engine compares any two templates and generates
a match/no match decision.
FaceVision Identity Servers may be ordered in two and four processor configurations,
to handle any number of access points from one to thousands, and to support
any number of enrollees from one to one billion. Multiple servers maybe used
on a network to achieve unlimited scalability and redundancy.
Software
In addition to our core automated identity verification software, Geometrix
offers a range of unique application packages tailored to solve specific identity
management problems.
We maintain a large code base and utilize object-oriented
techniques to gain leverage through reusability. We've learned through experience
what it takes to implement well-structured interfaces between underlying algorithms
and high-level application code - so if we do not already offer the application
package you need, we can implement it quickly. Or, you can, using our powerful
SDK.
Some of our existing software offerings include:
Guard Station:
FaceVision Guard Station software solves the major bottleneck in most biometric
systems - what to do when a user is rejected. Our unique Guard Station software
allows security to retrieve a life-sized 3D model of the enrolled user, and
zoom/rotate to view any detail in the model. By comparing these details to the
live rejected subject, the full power of the human mind can be harnessed to
confirm or exclude identity.
Multiview Rendering Software:
This package contains a powerful set of tools for posing and relighting FaceVision
3D facial models to match pre-specified conditions, and exporting the result
to a 2D facial recognition engine for comparison against legacy 2D images. This
can provide a significant recognition rate improvement versus conventional methods.
Additional information is available here.
Mug Shot Software:
This package integrates biometric enrollment, personal data entry, tools for
performing forensic identity confirmation/exclusion from oblique crime scene
surveillance imagery, witness lineup tools, and posing/lighting/rendering. Together,
these features provide the most advanced mug shot capture and analysis capabilities
in the world. Additional information is available here.
Software Developers Kit (SDK):
The FaceVision SDK enables software developers and integrators to build their
own FaceVision solutions using the same components Geometrix builds into its
systems. A wide range of functions is provided for enrollment, identification,
supervision, and administration.
