ThingLab is a new 3D printing and 3D scanning division
from Inition
Ltd - home of everything in 3D. ThingLab provides cutting-edge 3D
print and 3D scan production services and
hardware sales to a variety of industry sectors, including traditional
rapid prototyping applications, concept design, education and architecture.
We offer a fast, cost-effective and high quality 3D
printing and 3D
scanning service to our customers, operating two different 3D printing
systems in-house: a Z
Corp ZPrinter 450 for fast, affordable and colour prototypes, and
a 3D Systems Projet HD 3000 which produces high quality plastic models with
an exceptional surface finish.
3D printing allows us to turn your 3D design or CAD
models into physical plastic parts, which you can then use for design
assessment. The equipment builds a physical model - think of it as a rough
draft - that helps designers quickly iterate and advance the design before
going to more expensive development options.
For 3D scanning we rely upon the new Mephisto
3D Scanning Engine - an optical scanning system which allows us to
scan anything from a car to a person's face in very high resolution. 3D
Scanning allows the creation of a 3D mesh from a real world object or
environment. From here all sorts of application possibilities open up
including animation, archiving, medical research, rapid prototyping,
industrial design and quality control inspection.
